Hi friends. I’m still in New Orleans and I’ll wait to do a recap post of all the amazing food we’re eating when we’re back (hopefully by Wednesday) so I figured I’d drop in and announce the winner of the Pomi giveaway and then show you our bathroom reno pics (we just finished the 2nd one a few days ago!).
So, logistics out of the way first… the giveaway winner is #13 – Bridget (that FB extra entrance worked). Congrats!! Please email your address to elina@healthyandsane.com.
Now something totally unrelated to food but I’m super proud of it. The before and after pics of our bathrooms.
BEFORE
These are pictures of our master bathroom but both the master and the guest bathroom were pretty much identical. Outdated and sort of blah. We’ve wanted to renovate them since buying the place 2 years go!
Adam finally started the renovation of the guest bathroom in March. He did the demo, completely gutting it and sanding down the floor, but just that took way longer than we expected. It was stressing out him and me, so eventually we gave in and hired the contractor to finish the work. It was finished less than 2 weeks later ![]()
AFTER (Guest bathroom)
We LOVE this bathroom so much. It’s sort of ridiculous because I seriously show it off to everyone that comes to our place. I’m such a proud bathroom mama
Unfortunately, we sort of ran out of $$ to do the same thing with our master, so we decided to just make some cosmetic changes – new toilet, vanity, paint job, some accessories. Here is the after for 1/10 of the cost. Adam’s dad helped with the technical stuff, we painted and finished it off.
AFTER (master bathroom)
Doesn’t it look awesome too? It still has the old tub and the old tile but just the paint makes it so much brighter. And the new vanity and accessories make it look like it’s from this century! ![]()
So yeah, no food for you today. Sorry for talking too much about bathrooms. Actually I’m not too sorry. I think they’re both pretty, despite not being edible. ![]()
How’s your week going? Have you ever done major (or minor) renovations?
Off to find a muffaletta or something with alligator sausage…

LOVE the bathroom! I would love to get ours renovated, but it would cost too much $$…
I love your shower curtain!
muffaletta…ahh the best!
I am so impressed with your new bathrooms. I would be showing them off like a proud parent too. they look so sophisticated and inviting!!
Looks beautiful! I can’t wait to actually own a place and be able to do renovations.
Also can’t wait to hear about eating alligator…
they look so amazing!!! you guys did an awesome job
I love your bathroom! And it’s okay to be proud of it. You guys did so much work!
I thought the ‘before’ was nice, but your ‘after’ is stunning! I re-did (had redone) both bathrooms last year and am still facing a kitchen update. My budget is shrinking.
Very nice. I was curious about when you would post these pics. I know the feeling of moving in and always wanting something to be different. Love the results.
I love your bathrooms!! The tile in the guest bathroom is so pretty!
Soo cute! I just love the shower curtain. I redecorated my guest bathroom a while but want something a bit brighter. I have to keep my eyes peeled.
I LOVE doing home redecorating!
I took note of your bathroom, fyi. Love it! Can’t believe you guys did it yourselves (for the most part
) We are totally inept when it comes to handy work, unfortunately. It’s sad really!
Your bathroom looked so good. I was excited to see it when I came to your house. Nice work!
Yippee!!! Now I really have to make that monkey bread!!
LOVED the tile in the shower!!
Your bathroom came out fantastic! I was definintely noticing it when I was over
Congrats on such a successful project. I’ve never done anything that drastic on my own. But I feel accomplished when I paint!
They both look really great. You guys have a beautiful home!
Wow! What a transformation! I love the new look.
it looks so clean and modern! awesome!!!
They look gorgeous! I love what you’ve done with them
You make me want to have my own house to decorate!
Wow, what a difference a vanity makes! I love the square, modern shape – it’s such a clean look. I cannot wait to have a place to renovate!
How was the alligator sausage?
Beautiful bathrooms – they’re both so modern and peaceful. Glad to see the pictures, it sounded like an exciting project!
