Spooky dreams

February 1st, 2010 · 21 Comments · ham, salad, sandwich, shrimp, snacks

A nightmare last night woke me up in the middle of the night. I dreamed that all of my teeth fell out… it started with easily being able to pull out a tooth, then another, then all of them starting to crumble in my mouth. I couldn’t breathe because they were all coming down at once with their giant roots getting in the way of each other. I was also at school for some reason, so I tried to find a dentist but she wasn’t around… and the guy that greeted me in the classroom couldn’t care less about my problem. Man, that was one unpleasant dream! 😕

The first thing I did this morning (after making some coffee) was to google what that meant. Eek, maybe not the best idea! People out there have some whacky interpretations, although I did find that it’s a very common dream. Have you had it before? Not fun, not fun at all. Some interpretations did say that it means you may be worried about expressing something and that your voice may not be heard. Before going to bed last night, I was prepping for a presentation in front of our credit committee. Maybe I was worried about that? I plan on kicking ass during committee today – no need to lose any teeth over it. 😉

Now let’s rewind back to yesterday’s eats. It was one lazy day!

Mashed banana, pb & j sammie on a FFL english muffin + coffee

+ 2 coconut macaroons

[all together = 430 calories]

Mixed greens, pinto beans, avocado, corn, salsa and grilled shrimp

I cooked the shrimp on the George Forman grill… quite the set-up!

The salad was awesome. If I can make a healthy meal like that without a kitchen, anyone can!

[330 calories]

Power bran muffin + Barney Butter

This guy was the last one in the freezer from a batch I made last month

Barney Butter – I’m all out now :(

There was about 2.5T left. I made sure to get every bit left. 😉

[439 calories]

[180 calories]

Ham, avocado + dijon mustard on ww pane + a half-sour pickle and baby carrots

So, so good…

Do you ever remember your dreams? Ever tried to figure out what they meant?

i’ve had the teeth falling out dream a lot. when i googled it, it said that’s a premonition of someone dying…? it’s been a while though maybe i’m mixing up my “definitions”.
what did you sprinkle on the shrimp? the salad looks so good

I had a bad dream too. it seems that my fingers are injured and the skin are peeling. it was horrible.
Anyway, the salad looks delicious! =)

I hate bad dreams like that, i have a huge fear of teeth (i know im weird) but i have nightmares about them falling out all the time. It really freaks me out :(

I always remember my dreams, but I’ve never looked them up. I should try that. I’m scared of what I’d found out though.
I hope your meeting goes well :)

I have that dream a lot, but I’ve always chalked it up to my being self-conscious/anal retentive about the care of my teeth. You know, dreaming the reality
of things you stress out about? Maybe I’m alone in that way, though, lol.

I actually have had a similar dream, but I can’t remember what was going on in my life at the time. I always wanted to take a dream interpretation class during college toward my psych degree, but my school didn’t offer any. I’m still intrigued!

Very impressive Foreman lunch salad… it looks delish.

I found BB at Shaw’s the other day!!! Finally :)

Those dreams are very common! It usually means that you’re really nervous or stressed about something that you may not have control over.

I have that same dream sometimes too! I always think it was because I was paranoid about my teeth when I had braces =) Your shrimp salad looks great, love the Forman!

Salad looks great considering you don’t have a kitchen!

Innz, I used a spice mix I made a while back and kept in a little zip lock baggie (here’s the link to the post when I made it: It’s really good!!! Oh and I read about the death thing too, but then I realized your self-conscious can’t really know that and I’m sure that dreams are more about that.

Diana – eek, so creapy right?

Melissa – I kicked butt on the meeting!! Thanks for the good vibes you sent my way 😀

Lauren – Barney Butter is on my grocery list for Shaw’s already. Too bad I missed the sale a few weeks ago. I still love not waiting for it in the mail.

Rose – yeah, I read that somewhere too. The scary picture of a guy with bloody teeth was distracting me though.

I have weird and vivid dreams quite often. Especially during the spring and fall. Those are the times when I’m most actively involved with projects and schedule changes. I can usually see weird connections from my dreams to things that are happening in my life. It’s like all the thoughts I have that day jumbled into a train of thought and mixed in with some interesting emotions. haha

I’ve had that dream, as well as the one about not being able to walk, and i have dreams about being able to fly.

I’ve had tons of dreams where my teeth are crumbling! They always really freak me out and I wake up the next morning vowing to become a better flosser!!

Scary dream! I hate the nightmares that flash back throughout the day. You don’t even remember it completely, but you get a flash of it.

Love the grilled shrimp….they are a favorite of mine!

I probably dream every night, but I usually only remember the worst ones. One in which my dad was murdered and came back to kill me as a zombie.
Another in which my face rotted off.

I ALWAYS have the tooth dream! Ugh. Often I also feel like I can’t get my mouth open – like it’s not hinged together properly. I also have dreams where I spit out mouthfuls of teeth. Nasty.

    That salad looks delish :)

I often have that dream, and I wake up freaking out. I also have a weird sleep talking thing where I suddenly gasp and jump up to walk the dog, only I have never had a dog in my life!

I remember my dreams pretty much every night (byproduct of sleep apnea). I hate it when I have scary ones that cause me to call my brother at 4:30am and make sure he is alive.

Eek, you guys definitely have some spooky dreams to report. I wonder if there is a correlation between what you do right before bed and what your dreams are like. I’m thinking of doing a mini-yoga session before bed each day. We’ll see how that goes :)

I consistently have dreams about losing my teeth! Or usually they are just really, really lose. I read somewhere once that dreaming about teeth falling out means you’re insecure about something, but I’m not sure I believe in that stuff 😉 I tend to have certain dreams over and over….one is the teeth thing, one is that I am back in high school and have to take a math test, one of flying…I guess I’m a vivid dreamer 😉
