Up in the Air

I’m stealing the title of this post from the movie we saw last night. It was really good, although a tiny bit depressing. I’m glad I’m not single is all I can say. Have you seen it yet?

Before our movie date, Adam and I went to one of our favorite restaurants in Boston – Fin’s. I’ve blogged about it a few times, and looking at those previous posts it seems that I keep getting the same thing every time. I mean, the hawaii maki (spicy tuna, mango and avocado in rice nori) is out of this world and the salmon and hamachi nigiri is melt-in-your mouth delicious. I just can’t bring myself to order anything else. Boring, I know, but if you tried it, you’d know why. 😉

Fin’s has a pretty decor as well – modern yet cozy.

Oh and I did start with the house salad (no onions) but forgot that I’m actually not a fan. Yes, I’ve ordered this exact salad before as well. :)

Adam shared his 2 shai mai and took my salad off my hands. 😀

Sushi love <3

I’ll leave you with a few kitchen remodel updates

Good progress for sure!

I’m off to pick up Adam’s old college microwave from his parents and then it’s time for a football play-offs party. What do you have planned for today?

  • I want to see Up In The Air, but I think I will wait until it is on Netflix.

Yum, just looking at your sushi now I am seriously craving it!!

  • Fin’s looks excellent. I need to try more Boston restaurants but it’s hard choosing which ones.
Today will potentially be unexciting and annoying with a trip to Providence in hand

  • Looks like a nice restaurant. I love sushi!

  • hmm, so i shouldn’t see the movie since i’m single? that sushi looks fantastic… and glad things are coming along with the kitchen!

The kitchen looks like it’s coming along nicely. I love seeing the progress pics. I’m excited to see the finished results!

I’m just not a fan of sushi, no matter how pretty it looks. Aesthetically, I find it to be one of the more gorgeous food presentations, but taste wise, I just can’t stand it.

  • Ah yes, I remember you talking about this place! It’s been so long since I’ve had good sushi…or any sushi for that matter. This looks so fresh and high-quality.
The kitchen looks to be coming along! Must feel so good to own a house and be able to do what you want with it. As a renter I am paranoid about even hanging a mirror for fear of damaging the walls!
On the agenda for today: catching up on blogs, GYM, laundry…”Sunday stuff” :)

  • I love the sushi! I almost always get the same exact thing at most restaurants. I know it’s a waste, but I like what I like!

I will have to wait for the movie to come out on Netflix. Hubby knows I have a thing for George and keeps me away from him :)

  • I love sushi — I will definitely have to try that place out! How is the lack of kitchen treating you?

  • Haha oh my, your kitchen looks like a disaster zone right now! I can’t wait to see the finished product (I’m sure you can’t either). :)

  • Oh great, now I’m craving sushi :) I’ll definitely be checking out Fin’s! Looks like you had such a fun weekend!

Shannon – it was a really good movie, but I think may be a little more sad more single people. I’d watch it with caution or lots of girlfriends and wine 😆

Tiffany – we need to get you on the sushi band wagon. What about cooked stuff? Or vegetarian sushi? It’s SO GOOD!!!

Lara – it’s fun to own because we CAN do whatever we want but it also comes at a price… like replacing our heater for $6 grand this year will not be fun, ya know? 😉

Sophie – going ok for now. As you can probably tell there has been a good about of eating out lately.
