Kitchen action

Hi bloggies! First I wanted to tell you how wonderful each and one of you is. You left the most thoughtful, supportive comments on my previous post and every single one made me smile. I seriously think I have the best readers! 😀

Yesterday my kitchen got a lot of action, and it wasn’t just the cooking kind. 😉 A few days ago we heard what sounded like rain right outside our kitchen wall (inside the building!) – Adam unplugged some appliances and water spit out of the socket!! It was scary to say the least. He contacted our condo management immediately and they came in to assess the situation yesterday morning. It resulted in a giant hole in our ceiling. 😳

Apparently the upstairs neighbors had a crappily (hehe, I’m making that a word) done bathroom and their tub was leaking all over our kitchen. Yikes! Good thing we’re redoing the kitchen very soon.

Speaking of redoing our kitchen – we met with our kitchen designer one more time last night to go over his proposal and we’re almost done with the design stage!! Here is the color/style of the cabinet door we’re going with and a piece of the counter top stone.

I cannot wait for this to all be in place. It’s going to gorgeous, I’m sure! 😀 (P.S. I am going to do a little video of the condo this weekend before the kitchen and the whole space is in shambles. Look out for it on Sunday!)

All this action in the kitchen was so exciting, I had a hard time falling asleep last night. It’s actually happening. Yay! I also had a great food day and a nice workout. I’m back, guys!

Since I’m running late to work now, here are pics of yesterday’s eats. My workout was abs + spin back-to-back classes and it was just perfect.

Total calories consumed: ~1750 (I tried to keep track in my head all day and went over by mistake because I forgot one of the snacks. That’s why journaling works when trying to lose weight – sometimes we forget what we eat and those little things add up!!)

Happy Thursday! It’s almost the weekend, right? I am very much looking forward to that.

Nice come back! Those bad days are bound to happen from time to time. But being able to not let it turn into multiple bad days is what it’s all about. Have a great Thursday :)

I can’t wait to see your kitchen when it’s done! Every food blogger’s dream is to redesign her kitchen.

Shannon – I agree. It’s easy to get into a slump sometimes, but I’m totally back to healthy eating and a healthy mind :)

Sarah W. – I do have an iphone, but I haven’t used it for calorie counting yet. I use to track calories. They have an iphone app too, I need to check it out. Thanks for the suggestions! 😀

Innz – Adam was there when they opened it (it’s actually taped with some plastic now). I think you could look into their bathroom 😉 Scandalous. lol

Good Taste – I used the recipe from Cooking Light for orange-glazed salmon. I thought it was just okay, but my husband really loved it. I think wild salmon tastes fishier than farmed :(

Melissa – I’ll be sure to share the pics with you. It’s going to get interesting here on the blog without a kitchen. Eek

How exciting that the kitchen ideas are starting to take shape with real pieces! Those cabinet doors are gorgeous! It will be a challenge not having a kitchen for awhile but as long as you have a microwave, fridge, and maybe a toaster oven, you can do it! Since I don’t have a kitchen myself in our apartment I do a lot without. Hopefully you wont be without for too long!

That totally happened to us! Massive hole in the ceiling! They don’t take much to fix though fortunately. Love the crappy bathroom pun. hehe

YIKES about the upstairs neighbors. Your poor kitchen!
Dinner looks simply beautiful! Like something out of a magazine. Love the giant lemon (or orange?) wedge.

Very fun. I’ve always wondered who is responsible when things like the ceiling leak happen. I had one in my bathroom and thankfully it was not long after I moved in and there was a maintenance staff on hand so they took care of it. But I’ve always wondered, if there is damage to my unit from another owner are they responsible? Is the condo association? What if it’s a problem with the building’s water pipes? Ahhh soooo confusing.
