that has totally happenned to me-- how something seemingly so simple (having a recipe in mind and not being able to find the ingredients) can turn into something like a dessert assortment. take a deep breath, be mindful of how you feel, and get back on it. i just posted a note in my kitchen... you're stronger than you give yourself credit for. i'm hoping it helps!

It doesn't look like you did too bad, Elina! Don't beat yourself up. What I do is I exercise a little more than I normally would-this involves doing Level 2 of the 30 day shred and a several mile walk. And you just try again the next day.

I can totally see how those circumstances would lead to a "screw it" moment. But you've done so well and really, your indulgence was not that bad! But of course I know how it can make you feel.
I've been trying not to restrict after an indulgent time period, because I know it just makes me feel worse. I just try to go back to "normal" eating, which can be difficult for me, but the first day is usually the hardest. Once I have one "good" day, I always feel better!

Been there, done that, I have the t-shirt. ; )

All I can offer is to get back on that CLC horse right away. If you allow you little slip-up (and it is little so don't beat yourself up too hard!) to continue another day, it will be harder and harder to get back on track.

In fact, I'm *thinking* of keeping you company this week. ; )

I hate food hangovers!!!! To combat the damage from the previous day I usually try to eat simple, nutritious things, but not super deprive myself. Usually a good workout helps me feel better, but if your just not feeling it wait it out for a bit. Maybe a green smoothie would help or something.
I hope you feel better!

Try not to be too hard on yourself! I tend to go through similar patterns where I feel like I'm eating really well, but then one little slip-up makes me feel like I might as well just continue to slip up since I've already started.

The best way for me to try to combat this all-or-nothing thinking is 1) to remember that I want to enjoy my life - I want to look back and have memories of socializing with friends, even if that socializing meant dessert/bar food/etc and 2) slipping up now and then is never as bad as it seems! True, food hangovers are no fun, but as long as you eat pretty well the next few days and drink lots of water, you'll be back on track in no time.

I don't think that falling off the wagon is necessarily a bad thing. You've been doing so well for 12 days that a "slip up" (which I don't like saying because it's kind of a negative term) isn't that big of deal.

The past few days I've definitely over done it in terms of eating/drinking but I know that I've overdone it, I don't have any regrets, I enjoyed myself, and today is a new day. I'm going to just keep eating the way I usually do and not worry too much about it. I will say I've been chugging water like it's going out of style though!

Hey Elina,

First, I wanted to say I don't think your splurge was excessive, but I understand that given the nature of CLC you feel it was. I was there this week as well. :( It started innocently with a little exception for my birthday and I've had the HARDEST time getting back on track. I really feel mentally defeated.

Second, usually when I feel like I've gone a little overboard I just try really hard to get back on track the next day. That doesn't mean I don't eat, but I just eat extra clean that next day and following few days.

Good luck. :D
