This little guy did trigger a bit of a Barney Butter crazy in me (yes I used “crazy” as a noun) but my husband quickly removed the spoon and the jar out of my hands before any serious damage could be done. He actually tried to fake hide the jar. Haha. Oh he knows me so well. I think I managed to eat about 1.5 tablespoons (unpictured of course). Yes I want more, but I also want to be thin and fabulous and the 2 don’t go well together. I’ll have some tomorrow with breakfast. Perfect! 😀
There were so many things I wanted to make with my pretzel this morning. This egg sandwich did not dissapoint! I cooked the egg in the microwave for a quick and nutritious breakfast! Despite it’s small size, this baby fueled me through the morning and a lunch workout. No need for a pre-workout snack today. Yay, protein!
Dinner was Plan B because the fish I planned to make for dinner didn’t defrost in the fridge (even though I took it out of the freezer last night!). Thankfully I had this little package in the cupboards for “emergencies” just like this
And of course we keep shrimp in the freezer and shrimp defrosts in minutes under cold water. Love it! The only thing is… and I don’t know why I thought this would be any different – there were no veggies included. Duh, Elina – how could they put veggies in the unrefrigerated box! I don’t know! Maybe I thought they’d be dried. I guess that wouldn’t be very tasty anyway. I was just surprised to see only noodles and sauce in the box. Anyways, I dug in deeper into my freezer, fridge and the cupboards and this came together 10 minutes later. Voila!
The sauce was a little sweeter than I usually like (like if you ordered “American pad thai” in a restaurant instead of the authentic version) but this was great, especially for such a quick meal. The box supposedly serves 2, but with all the extra goodies I was able to sneak in there, we stretched it to 3 serving. Leftovers here I come 😀
Oh and I also had my last Vosges truffle. I’ve actually stretched the box for a little too long. This was yummy but I know it would have been mind blowing amazing if I actually ate it fresh. The little guy was called Budapest – influences from Hungary bring about this dark chocolate truffle. A combination of dark chocoalte and paprika-infused fresh cream is finished with a dusting of sweet Hangarian paprika.
Total calories consumed today: ~1720 (the little guy above totally triggered my sweet tooth that got the best of me!)
Two workouts today, both awesome! I took a “Rope’n'” class at the gym today – combines high-speed jumprope exercises with strength-training techniques, including jump squats, squat thrusts, mountain climbers, foot-fires, and speed-bags. Basically throughout the class you alternate between 1 minute jump rope and 1 minute of something else (lifting weights, jumping jacks, etc.). I felt super strong today and loved every second of it! Workout stats:
- Duration: 0:48 (+ 5 minutes of stretching)
- Calories burnt: 430 (40% fat)
- Ave HR: 150 (77%); Max HR: 173 (89%)
After work my husband and I also did the Shred dvd workout. I started the 30 Day Shred challenge 10 days ago, but was unable to do it 3 of those days. That makes today actually day 7. Since Adam is not ready to move on to level 2 yet, we’ll do it 3 more times for a complete 10 days and then we’ll start level 2. Again, I am SO happy that he’s doing it with me!! He said he’s already feeling the difference between today (day 3 for him) and the first time he tried it. I was smiling the entire time we were working out 😀 Shred workout stats:
