Hi bloggies!  I hope you’ve all had a good day.  I’ve been so busy lately, I have no idea what’s going on with most of you.  I try to sneak in a read here and there but usually don’t get to read more than one post at a time.  My bloglines account is exploding with unread messages!!  

I had an absolutely awful day, so I’m drinking as we “speak.”  I hardly ever drink these days (I’d rather spend the calories on food) but today a glass of wine (or 2) was much needed.  Work is just so busy and stressful.  I can’t wait for the weekend – it should be action packed with much more fun things!  I feel a little better after my little medicine, I must say 😉

Due to a stressful day, I was a bottomless pit.  I was trying to be aware of what I was doing (i.e. stress eating) so I did pretty well most of the day, but after getting home I finally snapped.  That tray of brownies was calling my name.  Good thing they’re healthy brownies, right? :)  All right, all right, let’s get to it!


I got a free bottle of soy milk at the gym last night, so I decided to have a cereal medley for breakfast today.  I used to hate regular milk and had soy milk with breakfast cereal every day during college, but somehow along the way I was able to appreciate milk and switched to it.  Soy milk is just so much more caloric and fatty than skim milk!  It was a nice treat today, though :)  Here is my first bowl (it is a relatively small mug that wouldn’t fit everything in it, so I kept on refilling it with more milk and cereal I brought from work):

In the mix: kashi golean, kashi golean crunch, corn chex cereal, Erin Baker’s peanut butter granola + 1/2 banana.  Very delicious!!

Lunch was also supposed to include a salad, but I ended up having it way later.  I was basically eating all day long!  Seriously every time my boss stopped by my cube I was eating.  How embarrassing!  I hate to make a joke about it every time.

Dinner was fun!  I steamed some mussels in white wine and garlic.  It takes literally 5 minutes and tastes just like in a restaurant for a fraction of the cost.  In fact, this whole 2 lb bag of mussels cost $5 at Whole Foods.  Not bad, heh?

I had it with some sourdough bread to soak up all the nice juices.  Yum!

Yeah, ok, I obviously stopped counting calories after a while.  Not my best night but at least there was no eating nuts directly out of a bag.

No gym today – too busy!  Sorry if I’m being lame.  Seriously this was a very rough day.  Did I mentioned how excited I am for the weekend?!!

Btw, have you guys seen this week’s Biggest Loser episode?  I was so mad!!!  (Without revealing what actually happened for those of you who still haven’t seen it) I don’t know why people start playing games so early in the game.  I mean it’s so obvious what they were doing.  Ok, I’m really signing off now! :lol

    I just started drinking soy milk (b/c of Mark) and I kind of had the same feeling as you about the fat in it and I was assured by the bloggies that is good fat and urged to stop freaking out, so I did. 😀

    I gotta give a little love and defend soymilk–if it’s the unsweetened, plain variety, it is the lowest-calorie milk-like drink I have found. 25 calories/half cup is pretty amazing, especially if it comes with all the other goodies that milk has. But I understand your point on the vanilla kind 😉 Alright, enough about that!
    Sorry you are having a rough week. I hope brownies + wine made you feel better :)
